3D Photo Tips

Have you explored all of the great features of the Nintendo 3DS Camera? Here are a few that you may not have known about, all of which can help you put together some truly amazing 3D photos. Just tap the red lever on the main screen of the Nintendo 3DS Camera application to access these additional features.

Create Great 3D Effects

When framing your shot, pay attention to the distance between objects in the background and foreground. The 3D effect will be more pronounced if there is a nice contrast between these elements. You can also tap the arrow that appears on the main camera screen to fine-tune the focus before snapping your photo.

Discover Fun AR Card Tricks

There are lots of creative tricks you can pull with the included AR Cards. Set a card on your shoulder and watch as a Mii character, Mario, or other Nintendo hero appears right on you. Print out a larger version of the Question Block AR Card to pose with a plus-sized Mii. The Graffiti feature with AR Games lets you draw all kinds of fun things and watch them appear in 3D right in front of you.

You can even use AR Cards in games like nintendogs + cats, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and more to see new characters appear in your photos. For more info on AR Cards and to download an extra large Question Block AR Card, click here

Finesse Your Photos with Filters

First, flip on the added features by tapping the red lever on the main screen. Then, tap the camera icon to choose different lenses like Sparkle, Low Light, Pinhole, and others. When in that screen, tap Manual Controls to choose a variety of film types such as Solarize, Sepia, and more. You can also adjust the Contrast and Brightness before taking your photo, and make further tweaks specific to each film type.

Once you've taken your photos, you can add fun 3D effects to them with the Graffiti tool in the Photo Album. With all of these tools, the possibilities are endless. We can't wait to see what you come up with.
